This book was supposed to be a part of "Ideal China" series, but is now published separately by Fudan University Press. So the missions of "Ideal China" series is still attached here for readers' reference.
Missions:
After more than 30 years of rapid development, Chinese society has embarked into a new development stage. At this critical point, "Ideal China" series attempts to propose an ideal construction for the future Chinese society by rethinking history as well as analyizing the present, with scientific methods and responsible attitude.In this context, the series will bring together the collective wisdom of senior scholoars from various disciplines, with Fair Development as the theme, to draw a grand picture for an ideal china. This series of books is based on the long-term accumulation of academic research, deeply reflects China's economic, political, social and cultural aspects, emphasizing forward-looking observation and thinking, and has ideological, constructive, innovative and social responsibility. Each book focuses on one theme and has the following four goals: 1) Trace, reflect and sort out the historical context; 2) Profound record analysis of Chinese reality; 3) Clearly depict the ideals of the future; 4) Take social responsibility and provide new ideas and suggestions for social development

With prospective observation and thinking, the series is thoughtful, constructive, innovative and full of social responsibility. Each book serves one different theme,and four same goals:
